IPv6, at the current time, is the newest version of the Internet Protocol. This is the standard protocol many Internet services still use today. Every device connected to the Internet, like your computer or mobile, needs an IP address to communicate with other devices.
IPv6 is set to replace the older version, IPv4, but, for the time being, they coexist together. In most cases, disabling IPv6 is not necessary as it should not interfere with your casual internet usage. However, if you are facing any connectivity issues, disabling IPv6 might resolve them.
To disable IPv6 on your Android device, follow these steps:
1. On your Android device, navigate to the "Settings" app.
2. Access Mobile Network Settings:
Within the Settings menu, find and tap on "Mobile network."
3. Choose Access Point Name (APN):
Look for the "Access Point Name" or "APN" option and select it.
4. Select Your Current APN:
From the list of available APNs, choose the one you are currently using for your mobile service. The names might vary based on your provider.
5. Navigate to APN Protocol Settings:
Scroll down within the APN settings until you find the "APN protocol" option.
6. Set APN Protocol to IPv4:
Tap on the "APN protocol" option and select "IPv4" from the available choices.
7. Save the Settings:
To apply the changes, tap the checkmark icon located at the top right corner of your device's screen.
